Murale : l’écolière à la perle

Quoi savoir ?

The mural was on display at the Louvre for several weeks!

The mural was created by French artist Seth, in collaboration with the Belz community school at 270 Av. Laurier O, SDC Laurier Ouest, the district of Plateau-Mont-Royal, the City of Montreal, the Government of Quebec and the Consulate General of France in Montreal.

The mural on the Orthodox Jewish School explores the theme of education by illustrating a young girl surrounded by books. Her gaze turned towards the building invites passers-by to imagine the inner world of the girls' school, embodying a bridge between the cultural heritage of the Orthodox Jewish community and contemporary expression.

With his extensive background as a committed artist and his ability to forge links between different communities, artist Seth is banking on the universalism of children. A true globetrotter, he is the instigator of the “Back to School!” project of murals committed to education, an initiative that aims to increase the value and significance of schools by presenting children with a monumental work of art. This adds fantasy and dreams to their minds, and marks the school at the heart of its neighborhood, its city. This new mural thus becomes part of a world-famous collection, enjoying international recognition.
